Are you passionate about your job?????????????

My dearest and adorable friends

Today we discuss an interesting topic. Are you passionate about your job and are you eager to go the extra kilometer.

It seems that so many of us are searching for that elusive career that embodies Confucius’ quote to “find a job that you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

Motivation researcher Frederick Herzberg says the big reason we’re unhappy in our work is that we have a fundamental misunderstanding about what motivates us.

He breaks down motivation into two categories: Hygiene Factors and Motivating Factors

Hygiene Factors: These are the day-in, day-out considerations of the job, and what the job  provides for us. These include, “status, compensation, job security, work conditions, company policies, and supervisory practices.

Motivating Factors: These are the factors that make us love our jobs, and include, “challenging work, recognition, responsibility, and personal growth.”

Author Christensen says that we spend an inordinate amount of time weighing hygiene factors, they only keep us from being dissatisfied – but they don’t make us happy in our work.

Only motivating factors can make us wake up excited to head to the office, and in fact, when present we often feel that we’re not doing work at all… And that makes you feel a whole lot more like fun than work.

Have a nice Wednesday…

Happy Birthday to the Prime Minister of Mauritius.

My dearest and adorable friends

The Prime Minister of Mauritius was born on the 29 March 1930 at La Caverne, Vacoas Phoenix, and was brought up there.

He had his primary education at Palma Primary School and had his secondary education at Regent College.

He was first elected in the constituency No 14 of Riviere du Rempart in 1963 in the National Legislative Assembly and was candidate of the Independent Forward Block.

In the beginning of the 1970s, SAJ joined the Mauritian Militant Movement.

He became the president and subsequently the leader of the party. Re-elected at the general election held in 1976 in the constituency of Piton/Rivière du Rempart, he served as Leader of the Opposition from December 1976 to June 1982.

Sir Anerood along with Lady Jugnauth took over the keys of the Chateau of Reduit on 7 October 2003. His election to the presidency was largely approved by the entire population as it was considered to be the new era of Mauritian politics.

However when parliament was dissolved in end of November 2014, SAJ was back in active politics as the MSM party conducted an alliance with the PMSD and Mouvement Liberateur.

The alliance was a general public hit and with their motto ‘Virer Mam’ they  won  comfortable 47 out of the 60 seats contested.

SAJ became Prime Minister for the sixth time and made history as he led an alliance that won against a Labour Party-MMM alliance.

Let us seize the opportunity to wish the Prime Minister of Mauritius a Happy Birthday. This day also coincide with my father’s birthday. Two great leaders in their respective field.

Wish you all a very nice day.

Mother...A living God

My dearest and adorable friends

Mother is someone who loves us so much and we still yearn for more love from her….

Mother is someone who makes us realize how good we are…that there is no one better than us…

Her happiness is in our laughter…and her caring is beyond expectations…

She is someone always in our heart…well cherished…A place no one can ever take…A place as special as God…and for whom you can willingly embrace death…

She is someone you miss so much when you are far…a grief that can’t be measured…a heart tearing pain for someone you love so so much.

And today is a special day in Kam City…May I wish my Mum a long life, a very sound health,  lots of happiness and may the blessings of Lord Shiva be always on her for her birthday.

On this special day may the world be full of Peace…Love and happiness.

Don't kill your dreams!!!!

My dearest and adorable friends

Life does not get easier just as the universe does not get less complex.

But with time you get stronger…and stronger…and stronger.

You learn to cope better…You learn to plan better…and eventually you gather enough force to dare to venture…

But all this is impossible if you remain grounded…Just as a plane is safest when in the hangar but are planes made to stay in the hangar only.

Dare to give a chance to your dreams…In anyway…Life is a unique experience.Live it J

Kam City wishes you all a colourful Holi day

My dearest and adorable friends

We will be celebrating Holi today.

Holi also known as the festival of colours or the festival of love. It is an ancient Hindu religious celebration dated since Lord Rama reign but it is increasingly becoming popular with non-Hindus in many parts of South Asia, as well as North America and parts of Europe.

Though it is primarily observed in India, Nepal, and other regions of the world with significant populations of Hindus or people of Indian origin….Like here in Mauritius J

The festival signifies the victory of good over evil  and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair ruptured relationships.

Holi symbolizes happiness…joy and shows the colorful aspect of the world…But most of all…it shows acceptance of humanity as one…

When we play with colors…difficult to differentiate…who is fair...who is not fair...all is in one color….The color of acceptance and the color of love….

Kam City wishes you all a colourful Holi day

You came empty handed, you will leave empty handed

My dearest and adorable friends

I was wondering what is the difference between a loser and a winner...

Some see obstacles as wall others see obstacles just as a hurdle that needs to be overcome.

Across the various battles, the Bhagavad Gita has always been my lighthouse to guide me through the storms of life…Enjoy the truth of life.

What did you lose that you cry about? What did you bring with you, which you think you have lost? What did you produce, which you think got destroyed? You did not bring anything –

Whatever you have, you received from here.

Whatever you have given, you have given only here.

Whatever you took, you took from God. Whatever you gave, you gave to him.

You came empty handed, you will leave empty handed. What is yours today, belonged to someone else yesterday, and will belong to someone else the day after tomorrow

Chill my friend.. life is a unique experience…Think God and go for it.

International Women’s Day

My dearest and adorable friends

The 8th of March commemorates the International Women’s Day

This day has its roots in the March 8, 1857, revolt of American women in New York City, protesting conditions in the textile and garment industries, although it wasn't proclaimed a holiday until 1910.

International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.

The 2016 theme for International Women’s Day is “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”.

And in Mauritius we are already working on it and we are also proud to have a woman as President of the country.

The importance of women in our society has never been questioned though in some countries they are still striking to make a breakthrough.

We will end today’s mail…with a quote related to the topic of the day…Behind every successful man there is a woman….So guys it’s something to think about J

Have a nice rainy day….Rain for the whole day as per Meteo..

La Grande Nuit de Shiva J-3

My dearest and adorable friends

Today we will talk about one of the greatest celebration in Mauritius….We are talking about  Maha Shivratri

Maha Shivaratri or as I love to  call it La Grande Nuit de Shiva, will be celebrated on Monday night J

Devotees all around the country and even from abroad visit the sacred lake of Ganga Talao on this festival to offer their prayers and bring back Jal(water) along with them.

Preparations starts a month before as pilgrims build beautifully decorated “Kanwars” or “Trishul” which they will carry on their way to and back from Ganga Talao.

The pilgrims chant holy hymns along their way in devotion for Lord Shiva…You will surely hear the beautiful chants of Har Har Mahadev or Bam Bam Bhole till Monday night all around the island.

Volunteers offer food, fruits and juice to the pilgrims on their way and even set up stalls for them to rest when they feel exhausted.

The beauty of every festival in Mauritius, be it Eid, Chinese New Year, Christmas or any other festival is the ability to celebrate in togetherness, unity and harmony.

I believe the respect of each other  is deeply rooted in each of everyone. May the Lord of Lords bless the world with Peace, Love and harmony…Glory to Lord Shiva

Friends of Kam City if you are going for pilgrimage

Bill Gates is poorer!!!!

My dearest and adorable friends

Despite being $4.2 billion poorer than a year ago, Bill Gates remains the richest person in the world following Forbes' 30th Annual World's Billionaires list.

The technology guru has been No. 1  for 3 years in a row and topped the list for 17 of the last 22 years, with a current net worth of $75 billion, down from $79.2 billion in 2015.

Spanish clothing retailer Amancio Ortega (No. 2) (best known for the Zara fashion chain), up two spots, increased his net worth $2.5 billion for a total of $67 billion.

The world actually has 1810 Billionaires with an aggregate Net Worth of $6.48 Trillion.

This year China got 70 new Billionaires whereas Germany produced 28 and India created 8 new Billionaires.

As per Forbes wealth is stretching to new corners of the world, with one new country, Qatar, represented in the list.

You might me next...

Wish you all a wealthy day and a Happy Pilgrimage for those on their way to Grand Bassin.

Take care.

Rio de Janeiro Is Founded (1565)

Dearest and adorable friends

Rio de Janeiro Is Founded (1565)

With a population of about 6 million, Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city and former capital of Brazil.

It is also the country's cultural center and a commercial, communications, and transportation hub.

It has one of the world's most beautiful natural harbors, surrounded by low mountain ranges whose spurs extend almost to the waterside, dividing the city.

Rio de Janeiro is one of the most visited cities in the southern hemisphere and is known for its natural settings, carnival celebrations, samba, Bossa Nova, balneario beaches like Copacabana.

Some of the most famous landmarks in addition to the beaches include the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer ("Cristo Redentor") atop Corcovado mountain, named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World;and Maracanã Stadium, one of the world's largest football stadiums which held the final of the 1950 FIFA World

The 2016 Summer Olympics and the Paralympics will take place in Rio de Janeiro, which will mark the first time a South American or a Portuguese-speaking nation hosts the event.

Rio de Janeiro....What a City.

Don't wait for it to happen.

My dearest and adorable friends

You can live life in two ways…Either you wait and go with the tide or you infuse your life with action.

You don't have to wait for it to happen.

You make it happen….. You make your own future…..You make your own hope.

Whatever your beliefs, honor gracefully the creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen.

Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.

Have a great Wednesday.

February 29,the leap day.

My dearest and adorable friends

February 29 is a date that usually occurs every four years, and is called leap day.

This day is added to the calendar in leap years as a corrective measure, because the earth does not orbit around the sun in precisely 365 days.

A leap year (or intercalary or bissextile year) is a year containing one additional day in order to keep the calendar year synchronized with the astronomical or seasonal year.

While those born on a leap days are called "leaplings,"

The name "leap" year comes from the fact that while a fixed date in the Gregorian calendar normally advances one day of the week from one year to the next.

In a leap year the day of the week will advance two days (from March onwards) due to the year's extra day inserted at the end of February (thus "leaping over" one of the days in the week).

February gone and here comes the eventful month of March.

Have a great day ahead.
