La Fête de la Musique

Yesterday we celebrated La Fête de la Musique, also known as World Music Day.

The concept of an all-day musical celebration on the days of the solstice, was originated by the French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang in 1982.

Ever since, the festival has become an international phenomenon, celebrated on the same day in more than 700 cities in 120 countries.

In many cultures, music is an important part of people's way of life, as it plays a key role in religious rituals, rite of passage ceremonies (e.g., graduation and marriage), social activities (e.g., dancing) and cultural activities

ranging from amateur karaoke singing to playing in an amateur funk band or singing in a community choir.

Be it happy or sad…. Most of us have at least one memorable event attached to a song…A song that makes u remember someone or a treasured moment!!!

Wish you all a great day.
