Thaipusam is a very folkloric and colourful celebration and it has its own uniqueness and beauty.

Dearest friends

Thaipusam, is a festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (January/February).

The word Thaipusam is a combination of the name of the month, Thai, and the name of a star, Pusam.

This particular star is at its highest point during the festival.

According Indian mythology, the day marks the victory of the war Lord Murugan over the demons.

The festivities start early morning with devotees beginning their procession from the Temple by carrying milk pots as offerings or attaching " "kavadis" and spikes pierced on their body.

Thaipusam is a very folkloric and colourful celebration and it has its own uniqueness and beauty.

Wishing you a colourful day.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving day from Kam City.

Dearest friends

Today the 10th of October,we celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada.

It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.

The first Canadian Thanksgiving is often traced back to 1578 and the explorer Martin Frobisher.

Frobisher, who had been trying to find a northern passage to the Pacific Ocean, held his Thanksgiving celebration not for harvest but in thanks for surviving the long journey from England through the perils of storms and icebergs.

The origins of Canadian Thanksgiving are also sometimes traced to the French settlers who came to New France with explorer Samuel de Champlain in the early 17th century, who celebrated their successful harvests.

Irrespective of the reasons...Thanksgiving day is a way to say thank you.

Thank you to the wonderful people around us...Thank you to Mother Nature..Thank to the Universe..and Thank you to the Almighty.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving day from Kam City
