Happy Halloween!!!

Dearest friends

Halloween or Hallowe'en, known as Allhalloween or All Saints' Eve.

The word Halloween or Hallowe'en dates to about 1745 and is of Scottish origin meaning ‘The evening before All Hallows' Day’

It is a celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day and dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed.

Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories and watching horror films.

Wish you all a great Halloween.

Canada’s heroic but lonely defence of liberal values!!!!

Dearest friends

Today's mail is a message from The Economist.

This week cover page considers Canada’s heroic but lonely defence of liberal values.

In a world of wall-builders, door-slammers and drawbridge-raisers, it stands out as a heartening exception.

Canada is uniquely fortunate in many ways, but other Western countries can still learn from its example.

Zanny Minton Beddoes, Editor-in-Chief The Economist

In line with our tolerance regarding values, this Sunday many communities are celebrating Diwali...This festival symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness or the win of good over the evil.

May my best wishes reach each and everyone on this special day.

Have a great Friday.

Diwali Abhinandan from Kam City

My dearest and adorable friends

Sunday will be Diwali…. :)

Diwali is the brightest of all Hindu festivals...also referred as the "festival of lights" is celebrated on second lunar day of the bright fortnight of the Hindu calendar month Kartik.

The name Diwali is a contraction of "Deepavali" (Sanskrit: दीपावली Dīpāvalī), which translates into "row of lamps".

Therefore, on this day, small clay lamps filled with oil are lighted to celebrate the triumph of Light over darkness or the win of the Good over the Evil.

With Diwali also comes new clothes and sharing of sweets with family members and friends.

Around the world, Diwali is also celebrated with the same enthusiasm and joy.

It is a way to strengthen our relationships…Even far from sight but still Diwali keeps us very close to the heart.

Last but not least…We can’t miss the cakes and more importantly Mr. THE 'Gato Patate'......Do enjoy them…I will miss them for sure. :(

Diwali Abhinandan to all of you…..From Kam City
